Biography
Valy Hedjasi, known professionally as Valy, is an Afghan singer and songwriter born in Kabul, Afghanistan, on 29 May 1986.
He comes from a musical family originally from Herat, Afghanistan, and grew up in Heidelberg, Germany. He learned instruments from a young age and trained in Persian, Arabic, and Indian music, including study with Afghan musician Nasrat Parsa.
He is best known for singing Afghan pop with a mix of romantic love songs, upbeat dance tracks, and culturally influenced songs. His music mainly leans toward Dari/Persian-style pop, but he has also incorporated Pashto in some releases.
Some of his better-known songs include Bia Tu, Delamo Shekoondi, Dokhtare Afghan, Atan, and Gole Nazam. He became widely recognised before and after his 2007 debut album After Love, and later released Crazy in Love in 2011.
