Qais ulfat

Qais Ulfat is a distinguished Afghan-Canadian singer, composer, and music director renowned for blending traditional Afghan sounds with modern pop and global influences. Based in Toronto, Canada, he is widely known as the "Shahzād-e Ghazal" (Prince of Ghazal).

• Heritage: Born in Kabul, he is the son of the late legendary musician Ustad Ulfat Ahang, who was a protégé of Ustad Sarahang.

• Training: He began singing and playing the harmonium at age five in New Delhi, where his family relocated due to the war in Afghanistan. He also learned tabla from his uncle, Ustad Fazel Ahmad.
